Iranian Border Guards Foil Major Smuggling, Terror Plots
The Commander of the Border Guard of the Law Enforcement Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that border forces successfully intercepted and seized hundreds of kilograms of narcotics along with quantities of weapons from smugglers before they could enter the country.
According to General Javidan, during several operations carried out over the past 48 hours, border guards managed to discover 667 kilograms and 150 grams of various narcotics, including heroin, opium, hashish, and methamphetamine, along with four hunting and military-grade weapons.General Javidan added that in another separate operation, border guards from the Mirjaveh Border Regiment in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, in Southeastern Iran, using smart and optical equipment, successfully dismantled a terrorist team, discovered three explosive bombs before they could enter the country for sabotage activities by mercenary elements, and arrested three suspects.A few days earlier, Iranian border guards also identified five vessels involved in fuel smuggling, seized the vessels, and arrested eight suspects.Iranian police have emphasized that armed outlaws and terrorist elements are seeking to carry out sabotage and destabilize society by smuggling explosives and bombs into Iran.
