Winter Deepens Humanitarian Crisis for Displaced Palestinians in Gaza

Severe winter weather is compounding an already dire humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, where more than two years of Israeli war have left much of the population displaced and living in fragile shelters. [MORE PHOTOS]
Aid agencies say cold, rain and flooding are placing additional strain on overstretched relief efforts, as Israel continues to restrict the entry of humanitarian supplies.
That more than one million people — around half of Gaza’s population — still urgently need shelter support, with many families living in makeshift tents or damaged buildings that offer little protection from harsh winter conditions.
