Iranian Parliament Chief Says Iran-Iraq Unity Unbreakable; Thanks Iraqis for Support
Iran’s Parliament Speaker, emphasizing that the unity between Iran and Iraq is never breakable, praised the Iraqi people for attending the funeral of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and for hosting millions of Arbaeen pilgrims.
Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, at the tomb of martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the senior anti-terrorism leader of Iraq, said: “On behalf of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the dear and noble Iranian nation, I sincerely thank the entire brave and fighting people of Iraq who shone with their presence at the funeral of our martyred Imam, strengthened this eternal bond as always, and created a great honor.”Qalibaf continued: “In the days when the Iranian nation was grieving and mourning, this meaningful and courageous presence of the Iraqi people at the ceremonies for the martyred Leader in the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala was a source of comfort for our compatriots.”Qalibaf also expressed gratitude for the Iraqi people’s hosting of millions of Iranian and non-Iranian pilgrims during Arbaeen, saying: “The Iranian nation thanks all of you, the dear and noble ones, the tribes, and the mawkib organizers.”Addressing the United States and the Zionist regime, the Iranian Parliament Speaker stressed that the unity among the Islamic Ummah, and especially between the two nations of Iran and Iraq, is never breakable.Qalibaf added: “When the Iranian and Iraqi nations needed each other and the conspiracy of America and Israel regarding ISIS took shape, Iranian fighters stood alongside Iraqi fighters.”
He stated: “Today, with all our being, we understand that the Resistance Front is more alive than ever and more active in the field, standing against the Zionist regime and the criminal United States.”
