Mossad-Linked Network Members Executed in Iran After Supreme Court Upholds Sentences

Two members of a spy network linked to Israel’s Mossad were executed in Iran after their case was reviewed and their death sentences were upheld by the country’s Supreme Court, the Iranian Judiciary’s Media Center announced.
Mohammad Masoum Shahi and Hamed Validi were part of a Mossad-affiliated espionage network, establishing contact with Israeli intelligence officers via cyberspace and travel to Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. After undergoing training in terrorist operations and sabotage tactics, they returned to Iran.The duo set fire to several military and public sites in Iran, sent footage of their actions to their handlers, and received funds in cryptocurrency.They also assembled explosive projectiles and transported them to launch sites but were arrested before carrying out any attack, along with 10 ready-to-fire explosive projectiles.Authorities discovered and confiscated ammunition, ready-to-use explosive projectiles, and mortar-making materials from the defendants’ residences in Karaj and Isfahan, as well as from their hideout in Tehran.After the completion of investigations and issuance of an indictment by the prosecutor’s office, the case was tried in the Revolutionary Court of Karaj on charges including "waging war against God" (moharebeh), "collaboration with hostile groups and the Israeli regime," "conspiracy against national security," "membership in a criminal terrorist group aiming to undermine national security," and "propaganda activities against the system."Following legal procedures and the rejection of the defendants’ appeals, the death sentences for Mohammad Masoum Shahi and Hamed Validi were carried out early Monday morning.
