US Seeks Iran’s Oil to Control Global Energy, Tehran Warns as Aggression Continues

Iran says Washington aims to seize its oil reserves to dominate world energy markets, as the US-Israeli military aggression against Iran enters its 11th day.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei stated on X that a Fox News article, endorsed by the White House, confirms controlling Iran’s oil is the “final piece of the puzzle” in America’s strategy to monopolize global energy supplies. The article highlighted that after securing influence over Venezuela’s energy sector and the Persian Gulf Arab producers, gaining access to Iran’s resources would cut China off from discounted oil, forcing it to buy expensive US energy—thus hindering its economic rise. The article published on Monday, was endorsed by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. It came more than two months after the US kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in a military onslaught that paved the way for Washington to seize oil reserves of the oil-rich country.Baqaei warned that this agenda threatens not only Iran but global sovereignty, energy justice, and international law. He urged regional nations and the Global South to recognize the shared danger.Iran has responded militarily to the aggression, affecting regional energy infrastructure, and warned that oil prices could hit record highs if the war escalates.
