Pezeshkian: Iran Will Not Target Countries Not Used for Aggression

Iran reaffirmed that it will not take action against neighboring states as long as their territory, airspace, or waters are not used for attacks against Iranian soil.
President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran will refrain from targeting neighboring countries provided their territory, airspace, or waters are not used as platforms for aggression against Iran.He made remarks during a telephone conversation with Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss regional developments following recent military aggression by United States and Israel against Iran.Pezeshkian firmly rejected media claims circulated by outlets aligned with Israel and the United States alleging that Iran carried out missile strikes against Turkey.To remove any misunderstanding, he proposed the formation of a joint Iran–Turkey technical team tasked with examining and refuting allegations promoted by hostile governments and media organizations.The Iranian president also emphasized that the Islamic Republic has repeatedly declared its readiness to reduce regional tensions and pursue de-escalation.During the conversation, Erdogan extended condolences over the martyrdom of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and expressed sympathy for the deaths of numerous civilians, including around 170 girls killed in attack on a school in Minab.Erdogan also congratulated Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei on assuming leadership of the Islamic Republic and wished him success.He reiterated Turkey’s opposition to foreign interference in Iran’s internal affairs and stressed that rising regional tensions serve no long-term interests.
Erdogan stated that Turkey has never considered confrontation with Iran and fully understands the circumstances facing the country, adding that Ankara is prepared to contribute to de-escalation efforts.He stressed that the current critical situation requires opening diplomatic channels more urgently than ever before.
