He stressed that Iran’s legitimate self-defense against the aggression will continue robustly, and that the Zionist regime and its supporters and apologists will be responsible for any escalation of the conflict. Araqchi said there is no doubt Israel, with the backing and cooperation of the US, has launched this war against the Iranian people. He held the US responsible for the situation and described it as an accomplice in the Zionist regime’s crimes. Araqchi also underlined Iran’s seriousness in diplomacy, noting that the Islamic Republic has never walked away from the negotiating table, but that currently its focus is on effective and deterrent confrontation with the aggression. The European troika top diplomats and the EU foreign policy chief expressed regret over the current situation and offered condolences over civilian casualties from the Zionist regime’s attacks.
