Iran Reaffirms Readiness to Strengthen Cooperation with UAE
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanchi has reiterated the country’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) based on mutual interests.
Speaking at the Joint Iran-UAE Committee Meeting on Political Consultations in Abu Dhabi on Friday, Takht Ravanchi emphasized Iran’s readiness to deepen bilateral ties.The meeting, co-chaired by Takht Ravanchi and UAE’s Assistant Minister for Political Affairs Lana Nusseibeh, focused on political and economic cooperation, as well as regional and international developments.Takht Ravanchi reaffirmed Tehran’s foreign policy priority of strengthening relations with neighboring countries and highlighted the meeting’s significance as a platform for advancing bilateral coordination.He also stressed the importance of accelerating the implementation of agreements and exploring new areas of cooperation to further consolidate ties.Addressing broader regional issues, the Iranian diplomat called for unity among Islamic nations in countering Israeli aggression in Palestine and Tel Aviv’s destabilizing actions in the region.He pointed to the upcoming Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers' meeting as an opportunity for member states to adopt a unified stance against Israeli-American plans for genocide and the forced displacement of Palestinians in Gaza.For her part, Nusseibeh reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to expanding comprehensive relations with Iran, expressing optimism that continued political consultations would enhance bilateral coordination and facilitate the effective implementation of agreements.
She also reiterated the UAE’s firm rejection of any plans for the forced displacement of Gaza’s population.Both sides welcomed progress in joint economic, consular, and security cooperation, including the Joint Economic Commission, Consular Committees, and Coast Guard Cooperation Meetings.They expressed readiness to accelerate the finalization of agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) currently under discussion.
