Iranian Leader’s Aide Warns US, Israel of High Casualties in Case of Waging New War
An advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei warned that any new military onslaught carried out by Washington or the Zionist regime against Tehran would result in heavy casualties.
Iran had developed new military capabilities that would be deployed in the event of another war, Mohsen Rezaei, a member of Iran’s Expediency Council, told NewsNation television network on Saturday."If the United States or Israel makes even the slightest threat against Iran, the next war will not resemble the previous one," he said. "[US] President Donald Trump should know that this time they would suffer extensive human losses," the former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) added.
The United States and Israel unleashed a war on Iran in late February, assassinating Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and several military commanders and officials. The two regimes also attacked nuclear facilities, civilian sites, schools and hospitals across the country which led to martyrdom of thousands of ordinary people.Iran’s Armed Forces responded with 100 waves of retaliatory operations under Operation True Promise 4, firing hundreds of ballistic and hypersonic missiles, as well as drones, against American military bases across West Asia and Israeli positions throughout the occupied territories.A 14-point document, signed remotely by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump, in mid-July establishes a permanent end to hostilities on all fronts. A final deal is to be negotiated within 60 days.
Outlining Tehran's conditions for a sustainable agreement, Rezaei said Washington must first recognize Iran's legitimate rights under international law, including its peaceful nuclear activities under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).He also called for the removal of US sanctions, the release of Iranian assets frozen abroad, and recognition of Iran's role in managing the Strait of Hormuz."The Strait of Hormuz has nothing to do with the United States," he added, stating that its management is a matter for Iran and Oman. The senior advisor went on to say that Iran had safeguarded the strategic waterway for decades and that countries benefiting from maritime traffic should contribute to the costs of its security and environmental protection.
