Tehran Warns Washington Against Meddling in Iran's Internal Affairs

Tehran on Friday warned US President Donald Trump against interfering in its domestic affairs, stressing that a review of the long record of American politicians’ actions to rescue the Iranian people discloses the true extent of Washington's sympathy toward the nation.
"Iranians will not allow any foreign interference in their dialogue and interaction with one another aimed to solve problems,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baqaei wrote on X on Friday.A review of the long record of actions taken by American politicians amid claims of “saving the people of Iran” will show the “depth of the US 'empathy' with the Iranian nation" he said.
His comments came after Trump threatened Tehran in a social media post, claiming the United States was prepared for military action against Iran in support of sporadic protests over the decline of the rial to a record low.“If Iran shots (sic) and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue. We are locked and loaded and ready to go,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Baqaei stated that the US played a role in the 1953 military coup that overthrew Iran’s then-Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh, shot down Iran Air Flight 655 over the Persian Gulf in 1988 which killed civilians and fully supported then-Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein during the eight-year war imposed on Iran in 1980s.The United States was also complicit in the Israeli regime’s assassinations of Iranians and attacks on Iran’s infrastructure during the 12-day war in June 2025 and imposed sanctions on Iran that are labeled the toughest in history, the spokesman emphasized. The US is currently posing a threat to attack Iran under the guise of compassion for Iranians in blatant violation of the most important principle of international law, he added.
