Tehran Slams CNN for Amplifying Israel's Lies on Iran's Nuclear Program
Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baqaei lashed out at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for spreading decades of lies and propaganda about Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.
“These are lies and propaganda. CNN compiles 3 decades of Netanyahu's continuing false claims about Iran's nuclear program, each time warning that Iran was very close to developing a nuclear bomb,” Baqaei wrote on X on Wednesday.
The Iranian diplomat made the comments after CNN compiled his repeated claims in a recent show. The video, aired by CNN on Tuesday, strings together Netanyahu’s repeated baseless claims since 1996 about Iran’s nuclear activities, portraying Tehran as an imminent threat.The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has even issued a fatwa (religious decree) declaring that the acquisition, development, and use of nuclear weapons violate Islamic principles and are therefore forbidden.
“This is 'mythomania',” Baqaei added.
