Iran, China Agree to Cooperate in Renewable Energies Field
Tehran and Beijing agreed to collaborate in the production of inverters needed by the renewable industry, as well as in transferring technical knowledge to Iran and building its ecosystem.
The signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of production and then transfer of technical knowledge of inverters needed by the renewable industry was held on Monday between an Iranian knowledge-based company and a Chinese company.
Iran and China signed the landmark 25-year partnership agreement in March 2021 in a bid to strengthen their long-standing economic and political alliance.The deal officially documents the Sino-Iranian Comprehensive Strategic Partnership that had been announced during a visit by President Xi to Tehran in 2016. It sets the outlines of cooperation in political, cultural, security, defense, regional, and international domains for the next 25 years.China is Iran’s largest trade partner.Iranian officials describe Beijing as a “reliable” trade partner for Tehran, stressing that there is “untapped” potential that both countries agree should be utilized to bolster bilateral collaboration.
With the inking of this memorandum, which was completed in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, it will be possible for the first time in Iran to transfer technical knowledge and produce this advanced technology.The Chinese company is scheduled to invest $150 million in this regard in our country.
