Iran Condemns US Complicity in Israeli Crimes

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baqaei lashed out at the United States for complicity in Israeli crimes against Iran, saying the Zionist regime has taken the act of aggression using American weapons and military equipment.
Speaking at his weekly press conference on Monday, Baqaei stated that the Israeli regime attacked Iran using US-supplied arms, and Tehran holds Washington responsible for the military assault.“On Friday, when my compatriots were sleeping and our people were preparing for the great Eid, the Zionist regime attacked our land using all kinds of weapons donated by the US,” he declared.“A number of our prominent figures and a large number of our compatriots were martyred in this cruel aggression,” the diplomat added.
Asked to comment on the fact that the attack was carried out concurrently with indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington, the spokesperson said, “The Zionist regime’s actions—which we cannot imagine occurring without US support—have rendered the talks process meaningless. It is America’s duty to take a clear position.”“We have no doubt that the Zionist regime could not have carried out this brazen attack without US coordination, collaboration, and support. America must understand: they are complicit in every drop of blood spilled on Iranian soil and every building destroyed in this assault,” he stressed. On the prospect of resuming indirect talks, Baqaei stated, “They are absolutely meaningless. As a United Nations Security Council member, the US is obligated to formally recognize this aggression.”He added that Iran cannot accept that the US—which maintains relations with this regime—would create obstacles to acknowledging reality".Tehran has demonstrated with strength and confidence that it is committed to dialogue, diplomacy, and negotiation, he continued, adding that the party that deserves condemnation here is the Zionist regime, which launched its assault in the midst of ongoing talks.
According to Baqaei, Iran’s diplomatic apparatus and armed forces are wholly focused on defending the country’s sovereignty.“Any party seeking to mediate must first compel this criminal regime to halt its atrocities. The immediate priority must be forcing this regime to end its aggression – for as long as these attacks continue, we will steadfastly defend our nation’s honor and protect our people,” he said. The diplomat added that the regime’s attacks have targeted residential areas and nuclear facilities, violating all international norms. He also noted that the assassination of Iran’s military figures—when no war existed—and the killing of Iranians in civilian spaces constitute blatant war crimes.Regarding certain European countries’ alignment with Israel while expressing readiness for negotiations with Iran, Baqaei said, “This contradictory approach demands an explanation.“Two of these three nations are UN Security Council members and JCPOA participants. If they truly valued the JCPOA, they would have condemned the Israeli regime’s crimes,” he added.
Emphasizing that Iran’s nuclear program remains the only one in the world with explicit legitimacy under UN Security Council resolutions, Baqaei said that the recent attacks on these facilities constitute a violation of both the JCPOA and the global non-proliferation regime.“We expect the international community to focus all efforts on stopping this onslaught and condemning the attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities,” he added. The spokesperson stated that Iran is pressing ahead with its peaceful nuclear program that draws its legitimacy from the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 despite the recent dangerous attack by the Zionist regime. He said the Israeli onslaught against Iran’s nuclear sites has harmed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.Iran’s nuclear activities are being monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and are subject to the harshest inspections, noting that there is no room for any excuse or justification for suspicion about the peaceful program, he continued.“Iran’s nuclear program is alive,” Baqaei stressed.
Israel continues its act of aggression against Iran that began on Friday morning, targeting multiple locations across the country, including Tehran. The assault have resulted in the assassination of many senior military commanders, nuclear scientists, and dozens of civilians.Iranian Health Ministry has reported that at least 90 percent of the victims of the Zionist regime's attacks are civilians.According to an update from the health ministry, a total of 224 people have been martyred and more than 1,000 wounded in multiple waves of Israeli attacks, which began on Friday.US President Donald Trump told the Wall Street Journal on Friday that Washington was aware of Tel Aviv’s plans to attack Tehran.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also confirmed that Tel Aviv had informed Washington about its plans to attack Iran before carrying them out.
