IAEA Renews Readiness to Help with Iran-US Negotiations

Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi emphasized the readiness of the United Nations nuclear agency to provide any assistance in the process of indirect talks between Tehran and Washington.
In a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi on Sunday, Grossi once again welcomed indirect talks between Iran and the United States.He declared the atomic agency’s readiness to provide any assistance in the process of the negotiations between the two countries.IAEA Hails Iran’s Responsible Approach
Iran and the US have already held three rounds of indirect talks mediated by Oman.US President Donald Trump has stated that his administration’s ongoing nuclear negotiations with Tehran are going “very well” and that an accord is going to be made.Tehran has expressed satisfaction with the progress made in indirect nuclear talks with Washington, but stressed that there are some “very serious” differences between the two countries and some others with less seriousness.Iran has stressed that the success of the negotiations relies on the demonstration of goodwill, seriousness, and realism from the US.
Araqchi, for his part, highlighted the role played by the IAEA regarding Iran's nuclear issues within the framework of the agency’s duties and legal powers.The Iranian minister stated, as a responsible member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran will continue its cooperation with the IAEA in line with its legal and international obligations.He expressed hope that all outstanding issues related to the Safeguards will be resolved as soon as possible through the agency’s technical and professional approach.
