President: Iran Not to Bow to US Bullying

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced Tehran's readiness to reach an accord with Washington within a defined framework but won't give in to US bullying and pressure.
President Pezeshkian said while Iran is prepared to reach an accord with the United States within a defined framework that protects its national interests, it will “chart its own path” if Washington refuses to negotiate on “equal footing.”"In talks with the US, we are ready to reach an agreement within the established framework as long as national interests are observed,” he added. However, if the US refrains from negotiating with Iran on an equal footing, Tehran will continue its own path, the president continued. As declared by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, “we are neither optimistic, nor pessimistic” about the talks, Pezeshkian reiterated.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi and Steve Witkoff, the US president’s special envoy for West Asia affairs, led two rounds of indirect talks in the Omani capital of Muscat and the Italian capital, Rome, in recent weeks.Iran and the US agreed to open expert-level technical discussions in Oman Wednesday. A third round of high-level indirect negotiations between Araqchi and Witkoff would kick off in Oman on Saturday to evaluate the results of the expert meetings and see how close they will be to an agreement.Iran has described the atmosphere of the talks with the US in Italy's Rome as "relatively positive", but cautioned that optimism over reaching an accord should remain measured.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Pezeshkian said Iran is pursuing constructive interaction with other countries based on mutual respect. He emphasized that Tehran does not seek to engage in any conflict with other countries, “but will not accept force and bullying".The president added that the enemy has assassinated Iranian scientific, cultural, religious, and academic elites in an effort to inflict harm on the nation. President Pezeshkian stressed that Iranians can develop the country by relying on their own capabilities and capacities.
