Iranian Source Denies Reports of Request for US Talks, Sets Conditions for Any Negotiations
A source close to Iran's negotiating team has dismissed as false reports in several media outlets affiliated with the Israeli regime claiming that Tehran has sought negotiations with the United States, saying Iran will not enter into any talks unless Washington first reverses its current positions.
Speaking to Fars News Agency, the informed source described the reports published by several media outlets close to the Israeli regime as "false."The source stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has made no request for negotiations with the United States and that no talks will take place unless the US side first retreats from its current positions.According to the source, the benchmark for such a policy shift is the implementation of the understandings already reached. These include the establishment of a special Lebanon working group aimed at ending the war and facilitating a withdrawal, the settlement of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with arrangements sought by Iran, and the restoration of Iranian oil exports and the flow of oil to normal conditions. The source added that any speculation about the start of negotiations before these conditions are met is baseless and inconsistent with the existing realities.
