52 Ships Bypass US Naval Blockade in 72 Hours
Satellite data showed that 52 vessels are moving freely within the waters of the region where the United States has declared a blockade on Iran.
According to the data, these vessels included 31 oil tankers and 21 cargo ships. Moreover, 30 vessels have passed through the Strait of Hormuz, including 6 oil tankers and 5 Iranian cargo ships.
The US announced a naval blockade on Iran in mid-April after failing to reach its military objectives in a joint war with Israel against the country that started in late February.Tehran considers it illegal under international law and a clear violation of the ceasefire between Tehran and Washington which was agreed following the 40-day US-Israeli onslaught against Iran. The companies monitoring oil shipments have since confirmed a breach of the US-declared naval blockade. The move came in response to Iran’s effective imposition of restrictions on transit via the Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway in the Persian Gulf which is responsible for a fifth of global oil demand.
