Search Underway for US Fighter Pilot Downed by Iranian Armed Forces
A search operation has begun for the American fighter pilot who was targeted and shot down by the Iranian Armed Forces.
Some local sources report the presence of two helicopters searching for the pilot in Iran’s Western and Southern provinces.Earlier today, Friday, news broke that an aggressive fighter jet was hit in the skies over Central Iran. Subsequent reports suggest the pilot may be alive, given the relatively intact condition of the ejection seat shown in images.Meanwhile, local sources have reported two helicopters searching for the pilot in the Western and Southern provinces, and images of helicopter patrols in these areas have been published. It remains unclear whether these helicopters are Iranian or belong to the aggressor forces.Military forces have launched the search operation for the pilot.It is also reported that nomadic tribes and local forces, organized and armed, are actively monitoring the area.A US fifth-generation F-35 fighter jet was struck and downed over Central Iran by a new air-defense system operated by the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force.The US had previously denied that any of its fighter jets were hit by Iranian air defense systems, claiming instead to have destroyed Iran’s air defenses.
