The United States is expected to announce the members of a so-called “board of peace” tasked with overseeing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire. However, many of the requirements agreed under the first phase have yet to be implemented. Aid agencies say Israel’s ongoing limits on the entry of medical supplies, fuel and relief goods are deepening the crisis, leaving hospitals struggling to function and thousands of patients without adequate care.
