Iran's Minister: Mossad Spies Identified in Several Countries

Intelligence Minister Ismail Khatib said that the intelligence services of tens of foreign states have Iran section, and further added that Tehran has identified spies for the Israeli Secret Service, Mossad, abroad.
Addressing an open session of the Iranian Parliament on Sunday, Khatib, who will keep his post as the intelligence minister under the administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian after a vote of confidence from the lawmakers, outlined his plans for the next four years and defending the record of his ministry during the tenure of late President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi.Khatib stated that Iran has adopted a professional attitude to counter-espionage. In this regard, he added the intelligence ministry has effectively countered the Zionist regime, and identified Mossad agents in 28 countries.The minister stressed that the intelligence services of 53 countries have Iran section, and many sabotage acts are carried out by different actors.He also highlighted the intelligence ministry’s success in adopting an “offensive approach” against the hubs of espionage plots against Iran, and at the same time taking political, legal and security actions against a series of targets.The official stated that his country has managed to thwart nearly all hostile plots with a series of counterterrorism and counter-espionage operations during the most recent term.
Iran’s foes, mainly Israel and the United States, have been engaged in attempts to spy on and sabotage Iran’s defense and nuclear industries.Iran has in recent years captured several members of spy networks affiliated to foreign secret services. The militants were involved in making explosives and hand-made bombs and linked to foreigners and planned to carry out counter-security acts and terror operations.Iran has been the target of terrorist attacks in the past few decades and thousands of its citizens have been martyred by the terrorist groups supported by certain Western states. Iranian officials stress that the country is a victim of terrorism.
"On the one hand, Iran is located in a region where it is facing numerous wars and tensions, including the creation of Takfiri terrorism under the name of Daesh," Khatib said."On the other hand, the state terrorism of the Zionist regime that resorts to the most brutal racist acts and massacre of innocent people in the eyes of the world," he argued.The minister added that endeavours to identify and exploit emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and cognitive sciences in intelligence activities have brought about significant developments in the field of information collection and analysis and helped Iran make great achievements in this respect.#Iran#Israel#Mossad
