According to the report, a PrSM ballistic missile targeted a sports hall in Lamerd. Carrying more than two tons of munitions, the missile reportedly detonated at an altitude of 30 to 40 meters above the ground, dispersing hundreds of thousands of tungsten fragments across nearby residential neighborhoods before any direct impact occurred. The attack left homes, streets and civilian infrastructure heavily damaged, martyring 21 people and leaving many others with severe injuries. Local accounts say numerous victims continue to carry tungsten fragments in their bodies, while others suffered blindness, amputations and long-term physical trauma.Four days after the attack, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said Lockheed Martin-made Precision Strike Missiles (PrSMs) had been used for the first time in combat since being fielded to the US Army at the end of 2023, a disclosure that is cited as evidence that the strike involved the combat debut of the weapon.
