IRGC Chief Commander Martyred in Israeli Strike on Tehran
Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami, was martyred following a military strike by the Israeli regime targeting areas of the Iranian capital. [MORE PHOTOS]
General Salami began his academic studies in mechanical engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology in 1979, during the height of the Islamic Revolution. After the Iran–Iraq War, he completed a master’s degree in defense management at Islamic Azad University.
He joined the IRGC in November 1980, following the Cultural Revolution and at the onset of the war.
According to official sources, the Israeli attacks occurred early this morning, during which multiple locations in Tehran were targeted by missile and drone strikes. In the course of this aggression, General Salami was martyred.
