Iran Police Bust Starlink Network Transferring Classified Data

Iranian police announced that they have identified and dismantled a network that was exploiting Starlink satellite equipment to establish unauthorized communication channels and transfer classified information from Iran to hostile networks. The principal suspect in the case has been arrested.
According to the police, the network was discovered and neutralized through intelligent monitoring and technical measures carried out by experts from the Intelligence Police of the Greater Tehran Police Command in cyberspace.Earlier, an individual was arrested on charges of sending the locations of sensitive areas in Iran to hostile satellite networks. In addition, two infiltrators operating under the cover of journalists in Western and Northern Tehran were detained. Exploiting their media cover, they had been collecting and transmitting classified information related to the country’s vital and sensitive military and intelligence centers to networks hostile to the system.According to the report, the main defendant, driven by large-scale profit-seeking motives, had established this unauthorized network. In addition to providing illegal services to specific individuals, the network had created a platform for the transfer of criminal and anti-security content.Preliminary investigations revealed that the network’s activities, beyond violations in the communications domain, directly targeted Iran’s national security. The Intelligence Police emphasized that the security of cyberspace and the country’s information domain constitutes a red line for the police.
It stated that decisive and uncompromising action against profiteers who, disregarding security considerations and motivated solely by financial gain, create platforms for anti-security activities by hostile elements, remains firmly on the agenda.
