Iranian President Cites Supreme Leader’s Emphasis on National Unity After Seven-Hour Meeting

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, referring to his seven-hour meeting with Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, described the Leader’s most important advice as the need to preserve internal unity and cohesion while avoiding discord amid confrontation with the enemy.
Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with Iranian political parties and organizations, Pezeshkian said the recent meeting with the Supreme Leader lasted approximately seven hours and covered a range of national issues, including the people’s livelihood, market conditions, employment, housing, the difficulties caused by sanctions, and the country’s resilience against the enemy.He identified “unity and cohesion” as the Supreme Leader’s foremost recommendation, stating: “Nothing is more important than unity under the present circumstances, because one of the enemy’s primary objectives is to sow division inside the country.”Pezeshkian added that the discussions addressed the country’s various challenges in detail, with the main concerns centering on the people’s living conditions, the market, employment, housing, and the problems created by sanctions. Talks also covered how the country should stand firm, the role of public support, and the necessity of maintaining unity and cohesion.The Iranian president stressed the need to refrain from creating division, noting: “We may have differences of opinion and express different views inside the country, but abroad a single voice and a single message must be heard from Iran, so that the world knows the Iranian people stand together in defense of their independence, dignity, honor, and beliefs.”
