Iran Rejects Joint Allegations, Warns of Firm Response to Pressure Campaigns
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister rejected a joint statement issued by a number of countries regarding alleged Iranian threatening activities, stressing that Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security are not subjects for political or propaganda bargaining.
Kazem Qaribabadi wrote on X on Friday: “Any hostile act, any unfounded accusation, and any participation in a pressure campaign against Iran will be met with Iran’s legal, political, and resolute response, as well as reciprocal and proportionate measures.”The United States, several European countries including the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, and France, as well as Australia and New Zealand, issued a joint statement accusing Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) and other Iranian security institutions of engaging in “plots and hostile activities” in Europe, North America, and Australia.Qaribabadi emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran rejects any attempt to carry out assassination, kidnapping, intimidation, or attacks against individuals outside the framework of international law. At the same time, he described such coordinated statements as a cover for political pressure, the securitization of Iranian communities abroad, and the justification of hostile measures against Iran.He added that governments with a well-documented record of violating Iran’s sovereignty, supporting military aggression, providing safe haven to terrorist groups, and granting impunity to the Israeli regime lack the moral and legal standing to accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The deputy foreign minister further stated that attributing a series of baseless allegations to Iran’s official institutions without presenting credible evidence is neither an implementation of international law nor a genuine effort to combat transnational threats. Rather, he said, it constitutes a political operation aimed at diverting public attention from acts of aggression, occupation, assassination, and grave violations in which those same governments have played a direct or supportive role.
