TankerTrackers: Sanctioned Tankers Moving Freely Inside US-Declared Blockade Area

Satellite images released by tanker tracking company TankerTrackers show that sanctioned oil tankers are moving freely within the waters of the region where the US has declared a blockade on Iran.
TankerTrackers, which monitors oil shipments, released three days of Automatic Identification System (AIS) imagery, confirming a breach of the US-declared naval blockade. The images show that many tankers subject to US sanctions are moving easily despite the American military presence in the region.According to TankerTrackers, AIS images from the blockade line between the Eastern tip of Oman and the Iran-Pakistan border clearly show sanctioned tankers entering and exiting the area without issue. The company noted that this count only includes tankers with their AIS transponders on, and does not include those that have passed through with their AIS turned off. This comes despite CENTCOM claiming that "in the first 48 hours of the blockade, no ship has been able to cross the blockade line."Earlier, the maritime specialist publication Lloyd's List reported that since Monday, at least eight ships have crossed the US naval blockade line Westward and are heading to Iranian ports or to load Iranian cargo.
