Supreme Leader: Enemy’s Dream to Dominate, Partition Iran Foiled by Nation’s Unyielding Defense
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, emphasized that the ongoing war waged by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran was launched with the enemy’s dream of dominating Iran and subsequently partitioning it. However, the Iranian people, through a broad-based defense, dealt a crushing blow to the enemy.
In his message marking the Iranian New Year (1405) and Nowruz, Ayatollah Khamenei stated: “This war came after the enemy despaired of a mass popular movement in its favor, and was based on the delusion that by assassinating the head of the system and a number of key military figures, it could instill fear and despair in you, our dear people, causing you to abandon the arena.”Referring to the 12‑day war last June, the Supreme Leader noted: “With direct American support and amid ongoing negotiations, the Zionist enemy cowardly martyred some of our finest commanders, prominent scientists, and subsequently nearly 1,000 of our compatriots.” He added that due to a grave miscalculation, the enemy imagined that after a day or two, it would be the people themselves who would overthrow the Islamic system. “Yet thanks to your vigilance, the unparalleled valor of the fighters of Islam, and their abundant sacrifices, signs of helplessness soon appeared on the enemy.”Ayatollah Khamenei described the bloody events of last January as a “coup” orchestrated by the United States and the Zionist regime, in the belief that the Iranian people—under imposed economic pressures—would act in accordance with the enemy’s objectives.
Pointing to the massive turnout in Quds Day rallies (the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan) and the millions‑strong marches marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, the Supreme Leader said: “These events proved to the enemies that they are not only dealing with missiles, drones, torpedoes, and military matters; the front line of Iran is far greater than the petty and narrow mindset of its adversaries.”Ayatollah Khamenei further warned of the enemy’s media operations, which are currently targeting the minds and emotions of some citizens in an attempt to undermine national unity and, consequently, national security. “We must be cautious,” he said, “lest through negligence or by our own hands, this sinister goal is realized.”Warning against the Zionist regime’s plots to sow discord among Muslim nations, the Supreme Leader clarified that recent attacks in Turkey and Oman “were by no means carried out by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic or any forces of the Resistance Front.” He called these actions “a ruse by the Zionist enemy using a false‑flag tactic to create division between the Islamic Republic and its neighbors.”The Supreme Leader also described engagement with neighboring countries as a serious and genuine priority.
Finally, emphasizing the need to ensure people’s livelihoods, improve living and welfare infrastructure, and generate wealth for the public, Ayatollah Khamenei named the new Iranian year’s slogan: “Resistance Economy in the Shadow of National Unity and National Security.”
