Iran Security Forces Kill 3 Militants, Arrest 8 in Major Counterterror Operation
In a counterterrorism operation conducted by Iranian security forces against a terrorist group in Southeastern Iran, three militants were killed and eight others were arrested.
The joint operation was carried out by the Ministry of Intelligence, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), and Iran’s Law Enforcement Command against a terrorist network affiliated with Takfiri groups and foreign intelligence services.Security forces seized significant quantities of military-grade weapons from the militants’ hideouts, including RPG-7 launchers, US-made M4 rifles equipped with night-vision scopes, several Kalashnikov rifles fitted with grenade launchers, and handguns.According to the report, all those killed or detained were foreign nationals recruited by the terrorist groups.During interrogations, the arrested terrorists explicitly confessed to carrying out an armed attack against Iranian police forces in Kerman Province in Southern Iran. In that earlier assault, three police officers and one civilian were killed.
