IRGC Ground Forces Operationalize New Missile Systems in ‘Combined Exercise 1404’
The Ground Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has operationalized its latest missile systems and successfully destroyed pre-designated targets during the large-scale “Combined Exercise 1404.”
The drill, officially titled “Combined Exercise 1404” of the IRGC Ground Force, was held along Iran’s Southern coasts with the participation of multiple units. The exercise showcased part of the force’s newest missile capabilities, while recently integrated systems assigned to the missile combat units underwent operational testing.During the maneuvers, missile units employed a variety of modern systems to strike predetermined targets at different ranges with precision. A key phase of the exercise featured the launch of a newly inducted missile system which, after completing its first mission, successfully redeployed and destroyed a secondary target at a separate location.According to released information, the new missile systems of the IRGC Ground Force are equipped with advanced and distinct navigation technologies, offer pinpoint strike accuracy, and utilize enhanced warheads capable of penetrating enemy combat formations and fortified positions. These capabilities further strengthen the unit’s role in conducting precise and targeted offensive operations. The combination of high accuracy, diverse warhead options, launcher mobility, and resistance to electronic warfare has reinforced the missile unit’s standing within regional deterrence calculations.Among the systems highlighted was the Fath-450 ballistic missile, with a range of 150 to 250 kilometers and a reported margin of error of approximately 35 meters.
The missile can be equipped with various types of warheads, including seeker-equipped, high-explosive, and fragmentation variants using high-energy explosives. The Fath-360 ballistic missile, with a range of 30 to 120 kilometers, travels at four times the speed of sound. Its strike accuracy has been reported at less than 30 meters. The Fath-360 is fitted with bunker-busting warheads and a combined guidance system incorporating optical capabilities, and it demonstrates high resistance in electronic warfare environments.
