Two Martyred, 30 Injured in Armed Clashes in Iran’s Lordegan

Two people were martyred and 30 others injured after rioters opened fire on police in the city of Lordegan, located in Iran's Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province.
According to a report by Fars News Agency from Lordegan, at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, a group of shopkeepers closed their businesses and began gathering while chanting slogans in several streets of the city. The initial number of participants was estimated at around 300.As protesters converged near the Khardoun neighborhood and the Shirouni Bridge, tensions escalated following provocation by certain individuals who had infiltrated the crowd, pushing the situation toward confrontation with police forces.During the clashes, some rioters began throwing stones at police officers. Reports indicate that armed individuals were present among the rioters, carrying various military-grade and hunting weapons. They suddenly opened fire on law enforcement personnel, leaving two people killed and 30 others wounded.In the course of the unrest, rioters also caused damage to the governor’s office and several other administrative buildings in Lordegan.
