Iranian President Issues Law on Suspending Cooperation with IAEA

Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, officially issued the law suspending Tehran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the relevant institutions.
The Law requiring the Government to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was approved during the open session of the Iranian Parliament on June 24.The President addressed the directive to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, the Supreme National Security Council, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Following the attack by Israel and the United States on Iran's nuclear facilities, members of Parliament passed an urgent bill titled “Suspension of the Islamic Republic’s Cooperation with the IAEA”, emphasizing that the Zionist regime and the United States had violated Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The law stipulates that, in light of the aggression by the US and Israel against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities and the endangerment of the country’s vital interests, the Iranian government is obligated to immediately suspend all cooperation with the IAEA—under the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and its related safeguards—until conditions are met, including ensuring the security of Iran’s facilities and scientists.
