Iran Reserves Right to Defend Itself Following US Criminal Assaults on Nuclear Sites
The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the savage military aggression by the United States against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, saying the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves its right to defend itself with full force against the US military aggression and the crimes committed by this rogue regime.
The ministry said the US crime of attacking Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, which coincided with the military aggression of the Zionist regime against Iran, has exposed to the world the criminal complicity and participation of the US with the Zionist regime in designing and executing these military attacks.It further pointed out that the US military aggression against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of a United Nations member state, carried out with the criminal complicity and collaboration of the genocidal Zionist regime, once again demonstrates the depth of hostility and malice of the US ruling elite toward the peace-loving and independence-seeking people of Islamic Iran.More than ever, it lays bare the reality that US policy and governance are controlled by a corrupt and criminal Zionist cabal that uses the wealth, lives, and reputation of Americans as tools to advance its criminal objectives in the world and the West Asia region, the ministry added. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said the US military assault on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities constitutes a gross and unprecedented violation of the UN Charter, UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and deals a devastating blow to the nuclear non-proliferation regime, committed by a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
It pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran reminds the United Nations, the Security Council, the UN Secretary-General, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and other relevant international bodies of their responsibility to take urgent action against this criminal lawlessness, emphasizing that silence in the face of this blatant aggression places the world in unprecedented danger.It further calls on the UN Security Council to hold an emergency session, unequivocally condemn the US crime of aggression against Iran, and hold this rogue regime accountable for its gross violation of international principles and norms.The Iranian Foreign Ministry also reiterated the responsibility of the IAEA and its Director General—who, with clear bias in favor of warmongering parties, provided the pretext for this recent catastrophe—is clearer than ever.
