Foreign Minister: Enrichment in Iran to Continue, With or Without A Deal

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue uranium enrichment, whether or not an agreement is reached with the US.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday in response to a question about US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s remarks on Iran’s enrichment activities, Araqchi stated: "We have already responded to illogical demands, and these unusual comments do not help the negotiations."Araqchi added that Iran’s position is completely clear: "Enrichment will continue, with or without a deal."The Iranian Foreign Minister warned against any proposals that would deprive Iran of its rights, stressing that such demands are unacceptable. He further emphasized: "If the other parties want transparency regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, we are prepared—but in return, they must also lift the unjust sanctions imposed over allegations about our nuclear program."Araqchi noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never abandoned diplomacy and counters excessive demands at the negotiating table.Regarding the next round of indirect talks with the US, he said, "We are still considering whether to participate in the next round of negotiations. We are assessing whether meaningful talks can take place on the proposed date and at the suggested location."
