Iran FM: Trump's Letter Has Not Yet Reached Us

Iranian Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, said a letter from the US President has been written but has not yet reached us, adding an envoy from one of the Arab countries is to deliver it in Tehran soon.
Speaking on the sidelines of Wednesday's cabinet meeting, Araqchi also said a closed-door meeting at the UN Security Council has been requested by certain countries, which is a completely new and strange procedure. He pointed out that from Iran's perspective, it is quite surprising and seriously calls into question the good faith of the countries that requested this meeting. He voiced hope that the Security Council will properly fulfill its duty to maintain international peace and security and not be swayed by the manipulations and atmosphere created by certain countries.Araqchi emphasized Iran has always been ready to negotiate on equal and honorable terms, citing the talks that led to the nuclear deal, JCPOA. The Iranian Foreign Minister noted Iran is negotiating with the three European countries, -Germany, France and the UK- with another round scheduled to be held soon.At the same time, he said, on Friday this week, a trilateral meeting between Iran, China, and Russia will be held in Beijing.
