Iran FM: No Negotiations with US Under Pressure, Sanctions
Iran's Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, emphasized that as long as the US maintains its maximum pressure campaign against Iran, there will be no possibility for direct negotiations between Iran and the US on nuclear issues.
Araqchi stated on Tuesday at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Tehran that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not negotiate under pressure, threats, and sanctions.He pointed out the ongoing consultations between Iran and Russia in various fields, adding that besides bilateral relations in political, economic, and cultural areas, Tehran and Moscow continuously discuss issues related to the West Asia region, Eurasia, the Caucasus, and all surrounding areas, as well as international matters.The Iranian Foreign Minister also announced the upcoming meeting of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission between Iran and Russia in April, stating that bilateral cooperation in this area continues across multiple sectors, including energy, railways, trade, agriculture, and tourism.He condemned the plan for the forced relocation of Palestinians from Gaza, stating that regional countries consider this plan unacceptable and oppose it.The Iranian Foreign Minister also noted that Tehran and Moscow have very close positions regarding Syria, adding that Iran seeks stability, peace, national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and progress for Syria based on the will of its people.He added that he has had close consultations with his Russian counterpart regarding Iran's nuclear program and that legal, political, and expert teams from both countries are in continuous contact.
The top Iranian diplomat said Tehran will coordinate its positions in the nuclear issue with the cooperation and coordination of its friends in Russia and China.
