Iranian Speaker Threatens US Oil Companies

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned of attacks against US energy firms following a threat from US War Secretary Pete Hegseth to destroy Iranian tankers.
“It’s simple: the oil and gas production chain here is sprawling, accessible, and exposed. American oil and gas companies across these waters and facilities share that exposure,” Qalibaf wrote on X on Monday.“Strike our assets, and you get struck,” he warned.
The Pentagon chief has warned Iran that the US would sink its oil tankers if American Navy ships were attacked. On Sunday, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its Aerospace Force had fired several ballistic missiles at a US aircraft carrier and an American destroyer participating in Washington’s naval blockade against Iran, forcing the enemy's vessels to flee the region. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has acknowledged that the vessels had come under “multiple” Iranian attacks.
Qalibaf paired the message with a seemingly AI-generated image of oil infrastructure with text reading, “The lost decade of the US economy is coming”.
