Ranking IRGC Commander: Iran Counting Down Minutes for US Soldiers
Deputy Head of Inspection at the Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters Brigadier General Mohammad Jafar Asadi stressed that Iranian forces are counting down the minutes to welcome US troops in the event of a ground invasion.
“Our war with the enemy is a war of attrition, one that will not end,” Brig. Gen. Asadi said Saturday.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to occupy Kharg during the war.Kharg is the heart of Iran’s oil industry. It sits 55km (34 miles) off Iran’s coast in Bushehr province.
The Iranian military official also dismissed comments from Trump that it is “getting more serious” about negotiations, suggesting that Tehran welcomed the prospect of a ground invasion by American soldiers.“We ask God that the ground forces of the aggressor American army find themselves in a position where we can engage them on the ground,” he added.
