Pezeshkian to Visit Pakistan for One-Day Trip
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to visit Islamabad on Tuesday for an official visit focused on following up on previous accords and expanding economic ties.
Director General of Public Relations at the Presidential Office Habib Abbasi confirmed on Monday that Pezeshkian will visit Pakistan tomorrow. He added the trip is expected to last one day.
Heading a high-level delegation, Pezeshkian travelled to Pakistan in early August 2025 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Tehran and Islamabad inked 12 collaboration pacts in various fields during the visit. Pezeshkian’s trip was his first to Pakistan since assuming office as the Iranian president.Pezeshkian stated at that time Tehran and Islamabad have always maintained “good, sincere, and deep relations” and plan to increase bilateral trade volume to $10 billion annually.Pakistan has played a central mediating role, alongside Qatar, in facilitating diplomacy between Tehran and Washington that ultimately led to the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in mid-June to end the war that the United States and Israel waged against Iran in late February.
The visit is aimed at following up on agreements reached during previous bilateral exchanges, reviewing opportunities to expand economic cooperation between the two neighboring countries, and expressing the Iranian president’s appreciation for Pakistan’s role in mediation endeavours between Tehran and Washington, Abbasi said.
