Iranian‌ FM to Visit Switzerland for Talks with US

Iranian‌ Foreign Ministry‌ Spokesperson‌ Esmail Baqaei confirmed that Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi is heading to Switzerland on Saturday to follow up on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Tehran and Washington.
An Iranian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Araqchi, will travel to Geneva tonight to meet with UُS officials, Baqaei told reporters on Saturday. He stated that the Iranian delegation will follow up and demand the other side implement its commitments, to clarify how serious the United States is about honoring them.
US envoy Steve Witkoff is en route to Switzerland to try and revive talks with Iran. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is also expected to join the negotiations. Their arrival has not yet been publicly confirmed.Their reported trip comes after US Vice President JD Vance canceled his flight to the European country on Thursday evening, warning that Israeli bombing in Lebanon had strained the accord between the US and Iran – the first clause of which states an “immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon".Iran had asked for guarantees that hostilities in Lebanon would end before it resumed the talks with the US.
Iran would “certainly take the necessary measures” if the US doesn’t uphold its obligations under an initial accord between the countries, Baqaei emphasized.
