Iran Emphasizes Need for End to Israeli Aggression Against Lebanon
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi stressed the need for a complete halt to the Zionist regime's assault against Lebanon, as Israel is pressing ahead with its offensive South of the Middle Eastern country.
During a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan on Monday, Araqchi praised Riyadh’s role in the diplomatic process aimed at ending the war imposed by the US and Israel against Iran and strengthening regional stability and security.Referring to the US’ responsibility for ensuring proper implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU)’s provisions reached between Tehran and Washington, the top Iranian diplomat stressed the need for a full cease to the Zionist regime’s onslaught against Lebanon.
The remarks came as the Zionist regime announced its soldiers will remain in the areas it occupied in Southern Lebanon as well as in Syria and the Gaza Strip despite a peace accord between the US and Iran.Tehran and Washington have declared that a peace agreement has been completed. The deal includes halting war on all fronts, including Lebanon, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the end of a US naval blockade on Iran.Despite the announcement, the Israeli Army continued to launch air attacks in Southern Lebanon on Monday.
During the phone call, the two foreign ministers also stressed the continuation of close consultations and diplomatic interaction between Tehran and Riyadh regarding regional developments and the need to strengthen endeavours to establish peace in West Asia.
