Iran Warns US Against Breaking Commitments
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned the United States against reneging on the commitments that Washington could undertake as part of a potential memorandum of understanding or accord with Tehran.
"Commitments made must be commitments kept. No ifs, no buts, no excuses," Qalibaf wrote on X on Friday.
It comes as Tehran and Washington are finally moving closer to formalizing an understanding after months of mediation endeavours and often-stalled negotiations.US President Donald Trump also stated on Thursday that an agreement between Tehran and Washington was imminent. Tehran has outlined the contours of a potential memorandum of understanding with Washington that, upon likely realization, could be followed by conclusion of a deal between the two sides.
"For the close deal ahead, there is no other way. You reap what you sow," he added.
