Iran: US, Israeli Bases, Assets Legitimate Targets
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned on Sunday that the the US maritime blockade against Iran and Washington's green light to the Zionist regime for attacking Lebanon's Beirut have turned bases and assets belonging to both regimes in West Asia into legitimate targets.
Qalibaf lashed out at the US and Israel, writing on X, "They are neither committed to a ceasefire nor believe in dialogue and by demonstrating through the naval blockade and violation of agreements regarding Lebanon that they only understand the language of power”.
Earlier on Sunday, the Zionist regime carried out air strikes against Dahiyeh in the capital Beirut where Hezbollah's headquarters are based. The raid targeted a building in the Al-Mreijeh area with at least ten missiles.The Israeli onslaught killed two people and wounded 11 others, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.The Zionist regime earlier this month halted plans for attacks on Dahiyeh after Iran warned that it would target the Israeli-occupied territories if it went on with plans to target the Lebanese capital.Iran previously stressed it would not agree to a permanent settlement with the US unless the accord also addresses Lebanon, and warned it would abandon negotiations if Israeli strikes continue.
Qalibaf, who is also Iran’s lead negotiator in talks with the US, added that “the naval blockade against the Iranian nation and America’s green light today to the Zionist regime turn American and regime bases and assets in the region into legitimate targets”.
