Spokesman: US Response to Iran's Proposal Under Review

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baqaei said the United States has responded to Iran’s proposal via Pakistan and that Tehran is reviewing Washington’s reply.
Speaking live on state television on Sunday, Baqaei stated that Iran’s “14-point proposal” does not include the nuclear issue.“Our 14-point plan exclusively focuses on ending the war and contains no issues related to the nuclear domain,” the diplomat continued, adding, “At this stage, our focus is on the specifics of ending the war in the region, including Lebanon."
Tehran has submitted a new comprehensive peace plan, while Iranian officials stress that “the ball is in the US court".Tehran and Washington held a first round of talks in Islamabad in mid-April, days after Pakistan mediated a ceasefire to allow a halt to the 40-day US-Israeli onslaught against the country. The negotiations failed, with Iranian authorities accusing the US delegation of making maximalist demands.Pakistan's endeavours to arrange a second round of discussions between Iran and the US have also faltered, as Iran has refused to accept US demands.
Baqaei also stated that “the claim of mine-clearing in the Strait of Hormuz by the US is fundamentally not part of our plan".
