140 Iranian Heritage Sites Damaged in US-Israeli Attacks

About 140 historical sites across 20 provinces have been damaged in US-Israeli attacks since the onset of the war, with losses estimated at 7.5 trillion tomans (around $49 million).
Iran’s Minister for Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Reza Salehi Amiri said the figures are based on preliminary assessments and may be revised as further evaluations continue. He added that Tehran recorded the highest number of affected sites with 63, followed by Isfahan with 23 and Golestan with 12.
The US and Israel conducted a fresh round of aerial aggression on Iran in late February, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked assault on the country. The strikes led to the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and hundreds of people, including women and children, as well as military commanders. The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced that more than 125,000 civilian structures were either destroyed or severely damaged by US-Israeli air attacks on residential areas across the country.Iran began to swiftly and firmly retaliate against the raids by firing barrages of missiles and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases in regional countries.
The Iranian minister stated that the attacks caused widespread damage to cultural assets across multiple regions during the reporting period.
