Iranian Source: US Raising Excessive Demands During Islamabad Talks

An informed source told FNA on Sunday that the United States has raised several excessive demands during the trilateral negotiations in the Pakistani capital.
"The United States is making excessive demands regarding the Strait of Hormuz", which has effectively been shut down since the onset of the US-Israeli war against Tehran in late February, the source complained."It seems that the United States is seeking to achieve through negotiations what it did not achieve during the 40-day war with schemes such as ship insurance, tanker escorts, and other military and economic plots," he added.
The remarks came as talks between Iran and the United States started in Islamabad. The negotiations come after the US and Iran agreed on Wednesday to a Pakistan-brokered two-week ceasefire following Washington’s acceptance of a 10-point proposal from Tehran.Iran has stressed that sending a delegation to Pakistan shows Tehran’s resolve to negotiate with Washington, though the country's Armed Forces' “fingers would remain on the trigger”.
"The United States has also made unacceptable demands on several other issues," the source added.
