At Least 120 Cultural Sites in Iran Damaged in US-Israel War

Iranian officials condirmed that US and Israeli attacks have hit at least 120 museums and historic sites across the country since the war began in late February, raising concerns over damage to cultural heritage.
Head of Tehran city council’s cultural heritage committee Ahmad Alavi said multiple sites have been directly hit.“At least 120 museums, historical buildings, and cultural sites across various provinces were directly targeted and sustained serious structural damage,” he added.
The joint US-Israeli aggression against Iran, which was launched in late February with the assassination of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and a number of senior military commanders, constitutes a flagrant violation of Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.More than 1,300 civilians, including at least 210 children, were martyred in the assault, and non-military sites like schools and hospitals were attacked. The Israeli-US onslaught has also damaged more than 92,000 civilian units across Iran.Within the framework of their legitimate response, Iranian Armed Forces immediately conducted forceful missile and drone strikes against US interests in the region and Israeli assets in the occupied territories.
Among the locations cited were the Golestan Palace, Saadabad Palace, the Marble Palace, and Teymourtash House, also known as the War Museum.
