FM: Iran to Make US, Israel Regret Onslaught
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi stressed that his country pledges to sustain its retaliatory measures until prompting Washington and the Zionist regime to regret waging a war of aggression against Tehran.
During a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Tuesday, Araqchi detailed Washington's and Tel Aviv's attacks targeting Iran's civilian and defense infrastructure alike since late February, calling the atrocities the primary cause of the current instability and insecurity in West Asia."Iran will defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity until all objectives are achieved and the enemy is made to regret its violent assault," the Iranian diplomat added. He also stressed that the insecurity and instability in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz were directly linked to the atrocities."The measures and precautions taken by Iran are in accordance with international law and are aimed at defending Iran’s sovereignty and national security, while preventing aggressors from misusing this waterway to carry out acts of aggression against Iran," the ranking diplomat stressed.
Tehran began its Military Operation True Promise 4 after the US and Israel unleashed the war against Iran in late February by assassinating Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei and several senior Iranian officials.More than 1,300 civilians, including at least 210 children, were martyred in the assault, and non-military sites like schools and hospitals were attacked.
The Chinese top diplomat, for his part, reaffirmed Beijing’s principled condemnation of US and Israeli attacks on Iran, denouncing violations of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stressed the importance of ending "bullying behavior" in international affairs and resolving disputes through diplomacy and international law.
