Iran Appoints Veteran Military Commander to Lead Supreme National Security Council

Tehran on Tuesday appointed veteran military commander Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr as the new Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).
Deputy for Communications and Information at the Iranian President's Office Seyed Mehdi Tabatabai announced it in a post on X.He replaced Ali Larijani, who was martyred in an Israeli attack last weekZolqadr is a veteran figure who has held numerous high-level positions across Iran’s military, civilian and judicial institutions.The appointment of Zolqadr, a veteran commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and former senior security official, comes as the US-Israeli war against Iran continues.
