Iran's Military Warns Strait of Hormuz to Be Completely Closed in Case of US Bombing of Power Plants

Iranian Armed Forces Headquarters issued a stern warning to President Donald Trump, declaring that Tehran is ready to close the Strait of Hormuz indefinitely if Washington carries out a threat to bomb Iran’s power plants.
"The terrorist president of the United States has continued his aggressive and destabilizing behavior, threatening that if Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz, he will target Iran’s power plants," Spokesman for the Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari said Sunday."We have repeatedly stated that the Strait of Hormuz is only restricted to hostile and harmful traffic; it has not been fully closed and remains under our intelligent control. Harmless passage continues under specific regulations that ensure our security and interests," he added.
President Donald Trump on Saturday threatened that Iran’s power infrastructure would be bombed if the Strait of Hormuz is not opened within 48 hours.Iran has warned from the very beginning of the US-Israeli onslaught on the country in late February that any attack on its energy infrastructure would trigger counterattacks on corresponding facilities in the region that are linked to the United States and the Israeli regime.Tehran has declared the strategic waterway is open to those who do not stand on the side of the enemies.
However, if US threats against Iran’s power plants are carried out, the following punitive measures will be implemented immediately:1- The Strait of Hormuz will be fully closed and will not reopen until our damaged power plants are restored.2- All power plants, energy infrastructure, and information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure of the Zionist regime will be widely targeted.3- All similar companies in the region with US shareholders will be completely destroyed.4- Power plants in regional countries hosting US bases will become legitimate targets."Everything is ready for a major jihad aimed at the total destruction of US economic interests in West Asia," Zolfaqari stated."We did not start this war and will not initiate it now, but if the enemy harms our power plants, we will do whatever is necessary to defend our country and national interests. The uninterrupted process of destroying the mentioned targets will begin, and nothing will stop the continuation of our operations against US and allied energy, oil, and industrial infrastructure in the region,” he concluded.
