Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan Condemns Israeli FM’s Provocative Comments Against Tehran

The Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan slammed “interventionist and false” remarks by the Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, during his visit to Baku.
The diplomatic mission on Monday described the regime's foreign minister's claims as “interventionist, provocative and entirely false".“A representative of a regime that was founded through terror, occupation, and the colonial genocide of the Palestinian people, and whose very nature is intertwined with occupation, terrorism, and apartheid, and whose record is replete with organized crimes against humanity and genocide - particularly the widespread killing of women and children - lacks any legal or moral legitimacy whatsoever to speak about human rights or the internal affairs of other countries,” the statement read.
During a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Sa’ar claimed that Tehran “is brutally murdering and oppressing its own people as they struggle for their freedom” and that a “massacre of unimaginable proportions” was taking place in Iran.Violent rioters attacked the administrative buildings, police and bus stations and mosques in a number of cities across Iran in early January, killing some ordinary people and security forces and inflicting injuries on others.Authorities say evidence shows foreign-backed terror groups distributed weapons, deliberately targeted civilians and security forces, and acted with the direct involvement of the United States and Israel.Tehran has stressed that recent violent events in the country represented a continuation of failed plots by Washington and the Zionist regime following the 12-day war, stressing that such endeavours have once again been thwarted by the Iranian nation.Tehran has also announced that hundreds of key operatives and ringleaders involved in the recent foreign-backed unrest in the country have been captured in the course of several operations. Iran’s Security Council also released a report on the recent violent riots across the country, confirming that more than 2,400 people, including civilians and security personnel, were martyred. It added that 690 other individuals were also killed during the riots.
The Iranian embassy emphasized that these “deceitful” remarks of the Zionist regime’s foreign minister constitute a desperate endeavour to divert global public opinion away from the mounting pressure over the war crimes committed by the occupying entity in the Palestinian territories. The statement further expressed regret over the opportunity provided to the representative of this illegitimate and criminal regime to whitewash its crimes and to make baseless claims and engage in ranting against Iran. While underscoring the deep, historical, and inseparable ties between the two nations of Iran and Azerbaijan, the statement stressed in conclusion the need for vigilance regarding such acts of sedition and interventionist measures by the Zionist regime, which are carried out with the aim of undermining relations between the two countries and creating tension and instability in the region.
